Dorothy M. Pifer, 95, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Berwick Retirement Village II. She was born February 2, 1923 in Briar Creek Township, a daughter to the late Donovan and Ethel Mae (Erwine) Belles. Dorothy was a graduate of Berwick High School in 1940. Her working years included employment at ACF and Lady Ester. She enjoyed camping, gardening, riding motorcycles, and swimming. Dorothy was a member of the Evansville United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was the Children's Coordinator. She also belonged to the Evansville Grange and was a member of the Senior Circle and a volunteer at the Berwick Hospitial Center. Surviving Dorothy are her son, Marvin Pifer and daughter, Judy A. Pifer, both of Berwick. Also surviving are grandsons: James Pifer and Eric VanPelt, great-grandsons: Riley and Isaac Pifer, and brother, Marvin. E. Belles of VA. As well as her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband , Oscar in May of 1990, and an infant brother, Richard. Dorothy's funeral is 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 12th at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of the service. Pastor Robert Rice will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park.
