Dorothy A. Kovach, 84 of Berwick, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Berwick Retirement Village I, where she was residing. She was born July 6, 1932 in Beach Haven, a daughter to the late Robert and Harriet (Church) Snavely. Dorothy worked as an aide in the Berwick School District for a number of years. She was an avid collector of dolls and over time, acquired a very extensive and quite remarkable collection. Dorothy also enjoyed tending to her fish pond and garden. She was a long-time member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ in Berwick. Surviving Dorothy are her son, John Kovach and wife, Rosemary of MA., daughters: Robin A. Kovach of Millville and Kim L. Kovach of VA., 3 grandchildren: Jonathan Kovach and wife, Courtney, Jennifer Cummings and husband, Peter, and Joseph Kovach and wife, Rebecca, and 4 great-grandchildren: Kristofer and Lillyanna Cummings and Quinn and Callum Kovach, all grandchildren and great-grandchildren of MA. As well as her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death in 1999 by her loving husband of almost 48 years, John. Also preceding were 4 brothers: Robert, Emery, Arley, and Harry and 2 sisters: Edith and Margaret. Dorothy was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. All are welcome to join Dorothy's family at her viewing 5-7 PM Tuesday, May 30 at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Dorothy's funeral is 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Scott Lyons of Stillwater Christian Church will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
