Donna Kay (Beiter) Gaito

Donna Kay Gaito, 77, of Berwick, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center. Donna was an amazing woman who was loved by those who had the good fortune to know her.

Born in Berwick, PA on October 17, 1943, Donna was the daughter of the late Stan and Kate (Debach) Beiter. She was a member of the Berwick Class of 1962. Donna worked at Luzerne Outerwear for many years, where she met her beloved husband, Steve. She was a Princess House consultant and also worked previously at the Berwick IGA and Heinz Pet Products. She was a member of the Maria Assunta, was extremely dedicated to working out at Fuel Fitness, and loved living in Berwick.

A true family woman, Donna freely shared her love, style, and laughter with her husband, children, grandchildren, and countless friends and extended family. She was always the life of the party, put her family first, was a lover of all dogs, and did everything with her signature flair.

Donna was preceded in death by her soulmate and husband, Stephen Michael Gaito, whom she wed on September 13, 1969. You couldn’t say ‘Donna Gaito’ without mentioning Steve and vice versa. They were true soulmates and fit together like puzzle pieces. They are now reunited again after just 157 days apart and are likely lighting up every room they enter together in heaven.

Donna will be fondly remembered as Steve’s beloved “Baby Cakes” and for always ensuring that her hair, nails and makeup were done. She shopped her heart out and loved going out dancing with Steve in one of her newest fashions. Her family meant the world to her and she loved spending time with them and her friends more than anything. When Donna showed up, you were ensured a good time and probably a dance party. She left her mark on this world and will be sadly missed.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Kristi Kutteroff, and her husband Eric, Schnecksville, her son, Stephen Gaito of Tobyhanna and her grandchildren: Jessica and Nicholas Kutteroff and Olivia and Cameron Gaito. She is also survived by her siblings: Jack and Nancy Beiter (Berwick), Stan and Paula Beiter (Harrisburg), Bob and Cindy Beiter (Berwick), Sharon and Dave McMurtrie (Berwick) and Marsha Kacyon (Apex, NC) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who were like family.

Donna’s services will be private due to the current pandemic.
