Diane M. (Barna) Evans

Diane M. Evans, 73, of Huntington Mills, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Berwick Retirement Village II. Born in Hazleton January 20, 1946, she was a daughter to the late Stephen and Mary (Durange) Barna. Diane was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1963, and then attended Temple University Nursing School. She worked as a registered nurse at Berwick Hospital from 1968 until her retirement in 2015. She was a woman of great faith and was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In her free moments, she enjoyed reading, crafting, feeding deer, cooking, and taking in a movie. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, by whom she will be sorely missed. Surviving Diane are sons: Stephen and wife, Grace, of Mountain Top, Michael of Forty-Fort, Ronald and wife, Sarah, of Bloomsburg, and Jason of Bethlehem, grandchildren: Trevor, Madeline, Luke, Juliet, Stephen, and Rebeccah, sister: Barbara Collins Diane was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Ronald B. Evans, who passed January 6, 2015. Also preceding her was a sister, Joan Fox. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 721 Monroe Street, Berwick. Her pastor, Reverend Matthew R. Larlick will officiate. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Memorial contributions in Diane's name can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church at the above address.
