Denzil E. “Diz” Borem, 96, of Berwick, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, September 7, 2026. Born in Lowell, IN on July 19, 1930, he was a son of the late Tillman J. and Sibyl (Sheffer) Borem.

Diz was a graduate of Morocco High School, Class of 1948. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. On July 16, 1971, he wed the love of his life, the former Ethel H. Reichert, with whom he would share 54 years of marriage. Diz was a long-time employee of Wise Potato Chip Company. He had also worked at Consolidated Container Company, Kevin Ryman, Inc., and Norman Fritz Trucking, from which he retired in 2013. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and had been a life member of West Berwick Hose Co, where he had previously served as Chief. Diz was a hard worker with a sweet tooth and enjoyed hunting, gardening, travelling, and watching westerns in his free time.

Surviving Diz are his children: Deborah Greutman of Oswego, NY, Wendy Manaco and husband, Jeffrey, of Kansas City, MO, Cynthia Lada and husband, Greg, of Shortsville, NY, Barbara McHenry and husband, Edward, of Jonestown, Brenda Jones and husband, Ronald, of Berwick, and Stanley Borem and wife, Julie, of Berwick; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings David Borem and wife, Joan, and Judy Noble.

In addition to his parents, Diz was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ethel H. (Reichert) Borem, who passed away December 15, 2025. He was also preceded in death by son, Richard Miller; son-in-law, Edward Greutman; and siblings: James Borem, Emma Alkire, Carolyn Bernaldi, and Betty Rainford.

A very special thank you to the hospice team for all that they have done for our father. We appreciate you all. We would also like to thank his caregiver, Joella, for taking such good care of him.
