Dennis J. Kennedy, III, 67, of N. Poplar Street, Berwick, died Tuesday morning, January 20, 2015 at his home. Born December 28, 1947 in Flushing, Queens County, New York, he was a son of the late Dennis J. Kennedy, Jr. and Christine (Koenig) Kennedy. He and his wife, Dorothy A. "Dot" (Tobin) Kennedy would have celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on March 27th. Mr. Kennedy was a Chemistry foreman at the Susquehanna Nuclear Power Plant in Salem Township from 1982 to 2010 when he retired. He also owned and operated Berwick Cards and Coins in Berwick. He had been a member of the Berwick Jaycees; a local investment club and various coin clubs. His hobbies included coins and guns and he was an avid reader. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Dot, are his four daughters: Shannon T. Kennedy, of Philadelphia; Denise DeCarolis of Berwick; Robin Maset and her husband, Marc, of Berwick; Christine Pittman and her husband, Dale, of Florida; four grandchildren: Elizabeth Sitler, Stephen Sitler, Nichole Maset and her companion Noah Lewis; and Marc Maset. Also surviving are a great granddaughter, Gia Lewis, and a sister, Tina Banks and her husband, Michael, of Berwick. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 10:30 A. M. at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 East Third Street, Berwick, with Pastor Scott Winter, officiating. A Viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Humane Society, (SPCA), 2801 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821.
