Dennis Eugene Bankes

Dennis E. Bankes, 58 of Berwick, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the Berwick Hospital Center. He was born August 27, 1955 in Pottstown, a son of the late William Carl Bankes, Sr. and Loretta Jane (Slusser) Bankes. Dennis worked most of his adult life as a laborer in the construction industry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and the Philadelphia Eagles. Surviving Dennis are his wife of 23 years, the former Leoma Tuggle, 2 sons: Austin Eugene Bankes of Berwick and Brandon J. Shoemaker of Wisconsin, daughter, Cheyenne Bankes of Berwick, 3 grandchildren, 4 brothers: William Carl Bankes, Jr., Douglas Stephen Bankes, Randy Lee Bankes, and Michael Shane Bankes, and sister, Dora Eileen Bankes. As well as his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Adrian Elmer Bankes and Wayne Allen Bankes. A visitation will be held 9-11 AM Wednesday, June 18 at the McMichael-Rairigh & Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd Street, Berwick. His funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Reverend Chad Hebrink, Pastor at Grace Lutheran Church will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
