David P. Slusser, 88, of North Centre Township, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 30, 2020 at The Berwick Hospital Center. Born in the family home in North Centre Township March 31, 1932, he was a son to the late Frank J. and Sarah A. "Nettie" (Sites) Slusser. David attended North Centre Schools and the Berwick High School, from which he graduated in 1950 and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1954. He worked at Wise Foods in Berwick for more than 41 years until his retirement in April of 1994. David was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and the Slocum V.F.W. He enjoyed camping and playing guitar. He loved bluegrass music and travelled to attend bluegrass festivals from New York to Virginia. Surviving David is his sister, Lila Faye Hoag, currently residing at the Gardens at Orangeville, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by brothers: William H. Slusser, Edward L. Slusser, Charles F. Slusser and Robert C. Slusser and sister, Eva M. Kisner. As a consequence of current pandemic restrictions, David's services are private. His interment will be at Ebenezer Cemetery, North Centre Township.
