Daniel P. Stout, 89 of Berwick, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the Berwick Hospital Emergency Room. He was born June 7, 1924 in Berwick, the son of Arthur and Helen (Wolfe) Stout. Daniel served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a crewman on C-47 aircraft, which flew logistics in the China, Burma, and India theaters. He was a member of Berwick VFW Post 821 and the American Legion. Daniel was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Surviving Daniel are his son, Dan and his wife, Dorene of San Antonio, TX., daughter, Dawn Edwards and her husband Edwin of Lime Ridge, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Shirley Sherman As well as his parents, he was preceded in death in 2007 by his loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Stout. Also preceding were brothers: Casper, Clinton, Robert, Edward, Richard, and Arthur, sisters: Arlene, Esther, and Inez, and a great-grandchild. His funeral service is 11:00 AM, Monday, June 9, 2014 at the McMichael-Rairigh & Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Pastor Scott Winter of the Berwick Assembly of God Church will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until time of the service.
