Dallas R. Fenstemaker, 81 formerly of Berwick, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Orangeville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where was a resident. She was born February 1, 1933 in Berwick, a daughter to the late Fred and Miriam (Snyder) McAfee Dallas graduated from Berwick High School and worked for nineteen years at the Berwick Hospital Center as a Nursing Assistant before retiring in 1993. She then worked part-time for a number of years at the former Christies Restaurant and May's Family Restaurant. Dallas was a loving and caring woman , who doted on her grandchildren. Playing bingo was one of her favorite things to do. She also served with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Reliance Fire Company. Surviving Dallas are daughters: Caffie Roeder and her husband, Daniel of Berwick, and Autumn Talanca and her husband, Bill of Berwick; sons: Graydon M. Fenstemaker, Jr. of Berwick, Fred H. Fenstemaker and his wife, Tracie of Berwick, and Raymond E. Fenstemaker of Nescopeck; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister: Elizabeth Puterbaugh of Berwick; and brothers: Eli McAfee of Berwick and Charles "Chuck" McAfee of Berwick. Preceding Dallas in death were sisters: Nancy Warner and Edna Brown, brother, Fred McAfee, and grandson, Christopher A. Fenstemaker. A visitation will be held 6-8 PM Tuesday, October 21 at the Kelchner- McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Her funeral is 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor John M. Hill of the Berwick Christian Church will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Market Street, Berwick.
