Cora Bloom

Cora Bloom, 99, formerly of Hunlock Creek, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 under hospice care at Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek, Holland, Ohio. She was born in Wilkes-Barre July 12, 1915, a daughter to the late Alfred and Sylvania (Smith) George. Cora worked for years at Retreat State Hospital as a dietary therapist before retiring. She was married for over 45 years to the late Roland Leroy Bloom, who died in 1982. Also preceding her in death were a son, Warren (2006) and brothers: Roland, Orvil, Alfred, and Gerald. Surviving are her daughter, Ginny Begin and her husband, William of Ohio, sister-in-law, Charlene Bloom of Stillwater, PA., and brothers-in-law, Paul, Warren, Carl and Vernon Bloom. A visitation will be held 6-8 PM Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the McMichael-Rairigh & Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Her funeral service is 11 AM Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Chad Hebrink of Grace Lutheran Church will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick.
