Constance ´Connie´ F. (Fillman) Bokrosh

Constance F. Bokrosh, 83, of Berwick, died peacefully Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. Born July 5, 1933 in Mountain Top, she was a daughter to the late Paul and Albena (Knorr) Fillman. Connie was a graduate of Fairview High School in Mountain Top and the Penn Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She worked as a registered nurse until her retirement at age 75. During her career she worked at various facilities including the Berwick Retirement Village, Dr. Alley's office, the Berwick Hospital, and the Berwick Area School District. Her favorite activities included fishing, spending time in the outdoors, and knitting; having knitted an estimated 3-4,000 Christmas stockings. Connie was also an avid fan and supporter of Berwick Bulldog football and was active with the 12th Man Boosters Club. She also sang alto for many years with the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Choir. A dedicated and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her favorite times were those spent with her family. Connie is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, George Bokrosh, Sr. Also surviving is her son, George Bokrosh, Jr. and wife, Wendy of Kingston, daughters: Linda Bokrosh of Berwick, and Cheryl Brown and husband, Ronnie of Millville, 5 grandchildren: Steven Bokrosh, George Bokrosh III, J.P. Bokrosh, Daniel Bokrosh, and Maribeth Ferraro-Swearer, 5 great-grandchildren: Jayden, Lillie, Landon, Liam, and Lucas, and 2 sisters: Linda Yermal and Judy DeLarche, both of Mountain Top. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Paul, George, and William and a sister, Atala. Connie's funeral service is 11:00 AM Monday, May 8 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1600 Fowler Ave., Berwick. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 AM until time of the service. Pastor Chad Hebrink will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Constance's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
