Clarence Jim Isaac, 86, of Berwick, passed away Saturday, January 10,2015 at Berwick Retirement Village II, where he had recently become a resident. He was born June 7, 2015 in Cleveland, Ohio, a son to the late Lewis and Margaret (Marcum) Isaac. Jim worked as a miner for most of his adult life. He is credited with saving the lives of several miners, which he led to safety during the Glen Nan mine fire in Nanticoke several years ago. He also was a veteran of theNavy. Golf, playing baseball, and fishing were among the things he enjoyed during his life. He coached Little League baseball and was a past president of BABA as well a member of the American Legion. Jim was a true family man who will be greatly missed by his loved ones and those who knew him. Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, the former Dolores Eisenhauer, three daughters: Denise Banyas and her husband, George of Berwick, Ruth Ann Jacobs and her husband, Douglas of MD., and Julie Lonoconus and her husband, Edward Niemenski of Berwick, five grandchildren: Chris, Jonathan, and Jamie Banyas and Alyssa and Michael Procida, and one great-grandson, Christopher. As wel l as his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Stanley, Ronald, and Oliver. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Jim's funeral is 11:00 AM Thursday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 1135 Orange St., Berwick. Pastor Dennis McCracken will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. The family requests that any donations in Jim's memory be given to Calvary United Methodist Church.
