Clara M. Boone, 84 formerly of Lime Ridge, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center, where she was a resident. She was born September 14, 1930 in Lime Ridge, a daughter to the late George Washington and Laura (Gensel) Boone. She did housework for several families both before and after retiring from the Berwick Hospital, where she worked in the laundry for over thirty years. Clara had a "giver's heart." She always made sure that here were fresh flowers on her relatives' graves for every holiday and kept in touch regularly with all of her surviving family members. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. Surviving Clara are nieces: Charlotte Wands of Berwick, Connie Geyer and her husband, Mark of S.C., and Tina Wood and her husband, Richard of Benton, nephews: Robert Boone, Jr. and his wife, Sherry of Berwick, Kenneth Boone and his wife, Kay of S.C., Arthur Boone and his wife, Doris of Berwick, Elwood Boone and his wife, Sue of Berwick, David Boone and his wife, Angela of Berwick, and Wayne Boone and his wife, Cathy of Hamburg, and sister-in-law, Olive Boone of Berwick. As well as her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Cynthia Brown of Harrisburg. Clara's funeral is 11:00 AM Thursday at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of the service. Her pastor, Edward Cope, will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at the Lime Ridge EUB Cemetery.
