Christine C. DeFinis Loving Aunt Christine C. DeFinis, 86, West Second Street, Berwick, entered into a life everlasting with her Lord on Monday, November 11th, 2013 at Maria Hall, Danville. Born July 21, 1927, in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late John DeFinis and Emma (Ripa) DeFinis. Christine graduated from Berwick High School. She worked in the garment industry including Milco, in Berwick; and then for many years as a Central Sterile Technician at Berwick Hospital Center, from where she retired. Christine enjoyed knitting, making fudge and word search puzzles; but most of all the company of her nieces and nephews and their children who \"Aunt Tina\" enjoyed taking on day trips and on vacations. Tina was an easy going, caring and giving person who placed the interests of family and friends above her own. She was a life member of St. Joseph Church, Berwick, steadfast in her Catholic faith, and active in ladies groups and helping with decorating the church for Christmas. Surviving are her sister Elaine DeFinis, with whom she resided; 13 nieces and nephews, including Ronald Hugick of Lansdale, whom she assumed guardianship of and was instrumental in raising along with her sisters Elaine and Mary. Christine was preceded in death by her sisters: Elaine, who died in childhood, Moralda Hugick, Elizabeth Kemp, and Mary DeFinis; and her three brothers: Joseph, Daniel and Samuel DeFinis. Friends and family are invited to call at McMichael-Rairigh & Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 East Third St., Berwick from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 14th, 2013 followed by her funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 721 Monroe St., Berwick, with her pastor, the Rev. Dennis Dalessandro, as celebrant. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery, W. Front St., Berwick. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Columbia-Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall, 1 Maria Hall Drive, Danville, PA 17821.
