Carolyn J. (Trettel) Talanca, 78, of Orangeville and formerly of Berwick, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at the Berwick Hospital Center. Born in Freeland September 6, 1941, she was a daughter to the late Charles J. and Dorothy M. (Solt) Trettel. Carolyn was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1959. Following graduation she worked as a secretary for the WBRX and later, WHLM, radio stations. In her later years she had worked at Knoebels Amusement Resort and Central Columbia School District in food service. Carolyn was a member of Immaculate Conception BVM Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed shopping, dining out, and pampering her beloved poodles. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family and friends, by whom she will be deeply missed. Surviving Carolyn are son: Richard J. Talanca and wife, Gina, of Berwick, step-sons: Peter J. Talanca, Jr. and wife, Alice, of Berwick, William Talanca and wife, Angela, of Benton, and Thomas Talanca of Berwick, step-daughter: Maryann Talanca of Bloomsburg, grandsons: Eric Talanca, Travis Talanca, and Tracy Talanca, brothers: Charles Trettel, Jr. of Berwick, and Timothy Trettel and wife, Debbie, of NJ, and numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Peter J. Talanca, Sr., who passed in 1976 after 15 years of marriage. Also preceding her was a step-son: Robert Talanca. All are welcome to join Carolyn's family for her viewing 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, February 20 at Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick. A prayer service will be conducted by Very Rev. Francis J. Tamburro, V.F. at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, February 21 at Immaculate Conception BVM Roman Catholic Church, 1730 Fowler Avenue, Berwick. Her pastor, Very Rev. Francis J.
