Carol M. Whitenight, 58 of Berwick, died unexpectedly in her home Friday, September 16, 2016. She was born August 19, 1958 in Yonkers, NY, a daughter to Joan (Terry) McPhillips and the late Thomas McPhillips. Carol was a graduate of Scarsdale (NY) High School, Class of 1976. She then attended Iona College, where she obtained a BA in the field of sociology. After graduation, Carol worked professionally at Chrysler Credit and the Scarsdale National Bank as a loan administrator prior to marrying the love of her life, Jesse, in 1988 and rededicating herself to being a full time homemaker. She and her family have lived in Berwick since 2003. Spending time with her family brought Carol great joy. She always had interest in crafting, tennis, taking trips to observe the fall foliage, Rita's Italian Ice, her pets, and reading. Most of all, Carol loved and served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A kind and loving woman, she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Surviving Carol is her loving husband, Jesse, with whom she had recently celebrated her 28th anniversary. Also surviving is her son: Luke Whitenight of Berwick, daughters: Jesseca and Caitlin Whitenight of Berwick, and Devin Toledo and her husband, Cliff of Mifflinville, grandchildren: Lily and Gracie Eisenhauer, brothers: Robert McPhillips of NY, and Tom McPhillips and his wife Christine, also of NY, sister: Susan McPhillips of CO, and mother- in-law: Edna Whitenight of Berwick. In addition to her father, Carol was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Jesse Whitenight. Visitation is 6-8 PM Tuesday, September 20 at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 East Third Street, Berwick. Carol's funeral is 11 AM Wednesday at LCBC, 20 Kachinka Hollow Road, Berwick. Friends may call at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service. Pastor Bob Hess will serve as the officiant.
