Dr. C. James Ferrigno, Jr., 71, of Sugarloaf, was stricken ill and died suddenly on Monday evening, September 15, 2014 in Allentown. Born, November 7, 1942 in Gainesville, Florida, he was a son of the late Carmen James Ferrigno, Sr. and Merva (Browning) Ferrigno. Dr. Ferrigno was a graduate of Brown University and the New Jersey College of Medicine. He faithfully served his country In the U. S. Army as a Captain, serving in the Vietnam War and was twice awarded the bronze star. He was a well known physician at Berwick Hospital Center where he had been employed since 1975 as a Radiologist. He served many years on the Hospital Board of Directors and was Chief of Staff for several terms. Dr. Ferrigno was a member of St. John Bosco Church in Conyngham. He was also a member of the Valley Country Club in Conyngham, the Berwick Rotary Club, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation of which he was Chairman from 1998 to 2006 and the Berwick Golf Club. He was an avid Berwick football fan, Philadelphia Eagles fan and Penn State fan. He was an avid bridge player and belonged to a bridge club in Berwick for many years. Surviving, are his wife, Ann J. (Connors) Ferrigno, whom he married July 11th; 3 children: David Ferrigno of Orange County, California; Kelly Williams, M. D. and her husband, Bryan, of Gainesville, Florida; Kevin Ferrigno and his wife, Angela, of Arlington Heights, Illinois. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren: Karen and Eleanor; 2 step grandchildren; Bryan and Christopher. He is also survived by twin step children; Albert Corazza and his wife, Jasmine, of Sugarloaf and Christine Lynch and her husband, Michael, of Conshohocken; 4 step grandchildren: Eve and Nicholas Corazza and Michael and Ryan Lynch. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen R. (Hare) Ferrigno on February 28, 2008. He was also the last member of his immediate family being preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Ferrigno and by 2 sisters: Rosemarie Floersch and Jane Ferrigno. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 A.M. at St. John Bosco Church, 573 S. R. 93, Conyngham, with Father Jack Lambert, as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Conyngham Union Cemetery. Friends and Relatives may call Friday from 2 to 4 PM or 6 to 8 PM at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 East Third Street, Berwick.
