Mr. Brian Roger Fish

November 19, 1963 — December 14, 2017

Brian R. Fish, 54, of Berwick, passed away peacefully December 14, 2017 in Jacksonville, FL. Born in Wilmington, DE on November 19, 1963, he was the son of Roger and Carol (Captor) Fish. Brian was a graduate of Berwick High School and Mansfield University. He continued his education at Arizona State University, where a Master of Music Performance degree was conferred upon him. Brian taught music in Phoenix, Arizona before moving back to Berwick to be closer to his family and to lead the Berwick Area Middle School Band. He also served as an adjunct music faculty member at Wilkes, Bucknell, and Bloomsburg Universities. Brian played bassoon professionally in Arizona as well as in several local groups including the Penn Central Wind Band, Bloomsburg University Orchestra, and Susquehanna Valley Choral. Most recently, he was employed by Western Express Trucking. Brian was a member of Bower Memorial United Methodist Church. He found joy in outdoor activities including cross-country skiing and camping with his family. He loved sitting by the fire swapping stories and spinning yarns. His greatest joy, however, was his family, and he took great pride in his children. Brian will be fondly remembered for making people smile with his quick wit and sense of humor. In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, the former Beth Steele. Also surviving are daughter: Kelsey Fish, of IN, son: Thomas Fish, of Berwick, brothers: Robert Fish and wife, Debbie, of VA, and David Fish and wife, Erin, of AR. All are welcome to join Brian's family at his funeral 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 23 at Bower Memorial United Methodist Church, 140 East Second Street, Berwick. Reverend Ralph Hartenbach will officiate. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street Berwick.
