Bradley Ray Schechterly, 47, of Fowlersville Road, Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, May 15th, 2016 at his home. Born December 24, 1968 in Berwick he was a son of Hazel M. (Gower) Schechterly, of Berwick and the late George L. Schechterly, Sr. He and his wife, Tracy L. (Williamson) Schechterly, would have celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on June 29th. Brad was a 1988 graduate of Berwick High School where he was a standout football player and wrestler. He went to the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, where he continued his football career as an offensive lineman, graduating in 1993. In September he took a position with RK Environmental Services where he was a service specialist. Prior to that he was a supervisor at Wise Potato Chip Company in Berwick. He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church in Bloomsburg. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and spending time with his son, Jack. Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are his son, Jack B. Schechterly, at home; a brother, Kevin L. Schechterly and his wife, Darlene, of Pottstown; a sister-in-law, Donna Schechterly, of Berwick; numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of wonderful friends. Also surviving are his father and mother-in-law, Jack and Diana Williamson, of Akron, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Patrick Williamson and a sister-in-law, Kerry Williamson and their families. He was preceded in death by his father, George L. Schechterly, Sr. on June 7, 2010 and by his brother, George L. Schechterly, Jr. on September 7, 1998. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11 AM at St. Columbia Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg with Msgr. Robert Lawrence, as Celebrant. A Visitation will be held Friday morning at the Church from 9:45 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.
