Obituary Betty Shotwell Lifelong Mifflinville homemaker Betty Shotwell, 91, of 219 West Fifth Street Mifflinville, PA passed away May 10, 2014 at the Grandview Rehabilitation Center, Danville, where she had been a resident for the past three years. Born on October 16, 1922 in Main Township, PA she was one of seven children of the late Ruth {Robinholt} and Grant Puderbaugh. After graduation from Mifflinville High School in 1940 she worked for the Wise Potato Chip Company in Berwick Pa, and at family owned businesses [Sister Grace and her husband Arthur Whitmire's} Briar Knitting Mills, Mifflinville, PA and Shotwell's Village Markets, Mifflinville & Bloomsburg, PA., but, first in her heart was her place as a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mifflinville, PA. Betty is survived by a daughter: Bonnie Cusma of Harrisburg, PA, a son: Capt. Jim Shotwell and his wife Diana of rural Mifflin Township, PA., five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years: Fred J. Shotwell, a daughter: Barbara Curland, four sisters, two brothers and her mother and father. Services for the family will be conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Joshua Reinsburrow with assistance from the McMichael- Rairigh & Baker Funeral Home Inc. of 119-121 East third St., Berwick, PA Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers should be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church, 5th and Race Streets, Mifflinville, PA.
