Bette (Fuller) Smith

Bette (Fuller) Smith, 100, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at her home.  Born in Bloomsburg on July 24, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Frances and Edna (Sibert) Fuller of Bloomsburg and Beach Haven.

Bette attended Beach Haven Elementary School and graduated from Berwick High School, Class of 1940.  She continued her education, obtaining her degree in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg State Teacher’s College in 1944.  Mrs. Smith taught a total of 40 years; three years in Bucks County, one year at Millville, and 36 years at Central Columbia School District.

Surviving Bette is her son, Ronald Smith and wife, Donna, of Berwick.

In addition to her parents, Bette was preceded in death by siblings:  Dorothy Keller and Jack Fuller.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Gary Kanouse and the staff of Commonwealth Hospice of Berwick for their care. They also want to thank her caregivers: Judy, Sherry, Kelly, Ashley, and Kim.
