Barbara K. Farver

Barbara K. "Sis" Farver, 75 of Berwick, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 27, 20107 at Shady Rest Campground, Eyers Grove, where her family had been camping. She was born August 31, 1941 in Berwick, a daughter to John and Selena (Kreischer) Switzer. Barbara was a graduate of Berwick High School and later worked at Lady Esther for over thirty years. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and helped with Vacation Bible School. She and her husband also volunteered with the Cub Scouts. Barbara liked reading, camping, cooking, and any type of family gathering. She worked hard as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, at being the example of a caring and loving person as evidenced by the closeness and devotion to one another of her family. Surviving Barbara are 3 sons: Michael and wife, Sharon of Bloomsburg, Mark and wife, Karen of Berwick, and Joe, Jr. and partner, Jennifer Adams of Berwick; niece, Amy Jo Milheim, whom was raised by Barbara as though she were her own daughter, and her partner, Michael Mowery of Berwick; grandchildren: Michael, Cody, Kevin, Brittany, Shawn, Jasmine, Brian, Katie, Briana, Nathaniel, Natasha, Selena, Jacob, and Michael; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Addelaide, James, Cami, Mikey, Miley, Kendall, Mason, Alex, Makia, Nokoda, Maliyah, and Brielle; 3 brothers: Donald of Shickshinny, Robert and wife, Kay of Berwick, and Charles of Berwick; and 5 sisters: Linda Schneider of NJ, Judith Brown and husband, Herb of Orangeville, Marion Bankes and husband, Alan of Berwick, Cindy Milheim of Red Rock, and Laurie Richards and husband, Richard of Berwick. Joe Farver, Sr., her loving husband of 38 years died in 2001. As well as her parents, Barbara also was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Ben, Edwin, and John and a sister, Kathie Ridall. Barbara's viewing is 5-7 PM Wednesday at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Her funeral is 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial follow at Elan Memorial Park.
