B. Fay (Heistand) Erb

B. Fay Erb, 81, of Berwick, died Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.  Born in Mastersonville on October 26, 1939, she was a daughter to the late Clarence C. and Florence L. (Hertzler) Heistand.

Fay was a graduate of Donegal High School, Class of 1957.  On April 28, 1961, she wed the love of her life, the late Galen N. Erb.  They shared 56 years of marriage prior to his passing on March 9, 2018.  Fay was a long-time employee of Bercon Packaging, which became Consolidated Container, from which she retired.  She attended Berwick Bible Church and was a member of the Berwick Historical Society.  She was active with the Berwick Area Community Crime Watch and, through her employment, the Berwick Area United Way.  Fay and her husband, Galen, loved to travel and had taken several cross-country road trips.  They were also active in the National Desoto Club.  She enjoyed cleaning and maintaining her home, baking, and guiding Jackson Mansion tours, as well as taking in the concerts on its grounds.  Her greatest joy was her family and time spent with them, especially babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving Fay are her son:  Steven H. Erb and wife, Barbara, of Berwick, grandchildren:  Katelyn Styer and husband, Rodney, of Berwick and Kristyn Stump and husband, Dalton, of Berwick; great-grandchildren:  Cade Stump and Eli Stump; siblings:  Larry Heistand of Elizabethtown, Mary Chesters and husband, John, of Landisville, and Carson Heistand and wife, Karol, of York; and step-sister Joyce Schroeder of Hershey.

In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Galen N. Erb.  Also preceding her was her step-mother, Mabel Heistand.

All are welcome to join Fay’s family for her funeral 11 AM, Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E.
