Audrey E. Kanouse of Berwick passed away peacefully Thursday, January 10, 2019, one day short of her 85th birthday. She was born in Berwick January 11, 1934, the daughter of the late Ralph and Odean (Eveland) Kershner. A graduate of Berwick High School, Audrey first worked as a secretary for the Wise Potato Chip Company and later for the Berwick School District. She also worked as a receptionist for the Hairport Salon in Berwick. Audrey was an avid Berwick Bulldog and Penn State Nittany Lion football fan. She enjoyed tailgating with her family at Happy Valley for many years. She also loved spending time with her family and friends and was always ready to go at a moment's notice on a camping trip, shopping, or out to dinner. She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church. Surviving Audrey are her two sons: Dr. Gary Kanouse and wife, Cheryl of Berwick and Stephen Kanouse and husband, Jeffrey Prichard of Bloomsburg; grandchildren: Alyse Watson and Billy Zaruta; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. As well as her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Tennyson (Tenny) W. Kanouse; brothers: Earl and Harold Kershner; and sister, Frances Rabert. A kind and loving woman, Audrey will be sorely missed by all who ever knew her. Audrey's viewings are 6-8 PM Sunday, January 13th and 10-11 AM Monday, January 14th at Grace Lutheran Church, 1315 Fairview Avenue, Berwick. Her funeral will immediately follow the Monday viewing. Pastor Chad Hebrink will serve as the officiant. Burial at Rose Lawn Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
