Arthur W. Benjamin, 74, of Berwick, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.  Born in Fort Campbell, KY on September 10, 1949, he was a son of the late Elwood N. Benjamin, Sr. and Delores Anna Jane (Slusser) Benjamin.

Following high school, Mr. Benjamin proudly served in the United States Marine Corp.  He was a 17-year employee of Del Monte Foods in Bloomsburg, retiring in 2004.  Arthur was an avid outdoorsman who liked to hunt and fish.  He also enjoyed dancing, working, and spending time with his beloved family.

Surviving Arthur are his children:  MaryAnn McGann and husband, Dale, of Berwick, Theresa Lemons of Bloomsburg, Chad Wood of IN, April Kaiser and fiancé, Harold Daum III, of Berwick, and Julie Zanolini of Berwick; 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and siblings:  Elwood Benjamin, Jr., Georgene Bower, Mary Bower, Shari Luciw, and Betty Fowler.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, the late Florence W. (Smith) Benjamin, who passed away December 15, 2019.  He was also preceded in death by siblings:  Craig Benjamin, David Benjamin, and Sandra Benjamin.

Arthur’s services are private with military honors having been rendered January 5, 2024 by the Berwick-Nescopeck Joint Veteran’s Council Honor Guard.  Memorial contributions in Arthur’s name can be made to Semper Fi & America’s Fund, 825 College Blvd, Suite 102,PMB 609,Oceanside, CA 92057.  The Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the Benjamin family.  Online messages of comfort and support may be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com.
