Alice Faye Hunter

Alice Faye (Siegfried) Hunter, 85, of Nescopeck, passed away peacefully Friday, September 11, 2026 at Glen Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Berwick. Born in Sugarloaf on October 2, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Darwin and Laura (Houseknect) Siegfried.

Alice was a graduate of West Hazleton High School, Class of 1958. On February 24, 1959, she wed the love of her life, William E. Hunter, with whom she would raise her family and share 66 years of marriage. She was a long-time employee of Consolidated Cigar Co. and, later, Dura-Bond, from which she retired. Alice enjoyed baking Christmas cookies, which she was sure to share with her family and friends. She was an avid crafter and loved gardening with her husband. Her greatest joys, however, were her family and times spent with them.

Surviving Alice are her children: Karen Eroh (Scott), Donna McGlynn, and Kevin Hunter (Luis); grandchildren: Shannon Seigfreid Thomas (Jason), Laura Seigfreid Seward (Jeremy), Darren McGlynn, and Diana McGlynn Michel (Sean); great-grandchildren: Hunter Palko, Emily Seward, Owen Seward, Liam Michel, and Lincoln Michel; great-great-grandchild: Kasey Palko; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William E. Hunter, who passed away March 27, 2025. The last of 10 brothers and sisters, she was also preceded in death by brothers: Darwin “Bill,” Charles, George, and Richard Siegfried; sisters: Emma Sharbaugh, Marjorie Kemper, Gloria Gardy, Alma Casner, and Jean Lowery; as well as son-in-law, Donald McGlynn.
