Alice ´Betty´ E. Hampton

Alice E. "Betty" Hampton, 86, formerly of Berwick, died Friday January 13, 2017 at Phoebe Nursing Home in Allentown. She was born July 25, 1930 in Washington, D.C., but lived most of her life in Allentown. Betty worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in Allentown, the last one being the Brass Rail Restaurant, which was located on Lehigh Street. Surviving Betty are daughters: Ellen Herman and Dawn Mitchell and husband, Albert, all of Allentown. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Jason and Erick Bobo, Aimee and Alicia Mitchell, and Anthony "Tony" Hampton, Tony's mother, Rebecca Sell and sisters: Dani and Beth, six great-grandchildren: Jonathan Dorward, Analise and Aiden Vera, and Julianna, Megan and Elizabeth Bobo, sisters-in-law: Beverly Farver and husband, James of Berwick, Bonnie Wolford and husband, Lloyd of Berwick, and Bayne Hampton of Danville, and brother-in-law: Gary Hampton and wife, Penny of Nescopeck. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Boyd L. Hampton. Also preceding were her only son, Willis S. Hampton, great-grandson, Willis Edward Hampton, and brother, Bill Moll. Betty's funeral is 11 AM Tuesday, January 17 at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 AM until time of the service. Pastor James Farver will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park.
